Senior Generative AI Data Engineer - Financial Services

About the Job you are considering:

We are seeking a Senior Generative AI Data Engineer with strong experience in financial services (banking, capital markets, insurance, or fintech) to design, build, and scale GenAI-powered data platforms.

This role combines modern data engineering, LLM/AI integration, and financial domain expertise to deliver enterprise-grade solutions across use cases such as:

  • Risk analytics & fraud detection
  • Regulatory compliance automation
  • Document intelligence (KYC, contracts, trade docs)
  • Customer insights & conversational AI

You will work on cutting-edge technologies including LLMs, vector databases, RAG architectures, and cloud-native data platforms, helping organizations unlock value from structured and unstructured data.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

  • Design and build end-to-end GenAI pipelines using LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic)
  • Develop RAG architectures with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Azure AI Search)
  • Optimize LLM outputs using prompt engineering, embeddings, and evaluation techniques
  • Build AI solutions for document processing, compliance, and banking chatbots
  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms
  • Implement batch and real-time data processing with structured and unstructured data
  • Deploy solutions on cloud with CI/CD, MLOps tools, and ensure production reliability
  • Collaborate with business teams, ensure compliance, and mentor teams on best practices

Your Skills:

  • 7+ years in data engineering or AI engineering with strong Python and SQL expertise
  • Experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases
  • Hands-on with distributed computing (Spark, Databricks) and microservices architecture
  • Cloud experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP and lakehouse platforms
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Terraform) and Docker/Kubernetes
  • Financial domain expertise in banking, capital markets, or fintech environments
  • Knowledge of risk, compliance, KYC/AML, fraud systems, and regulatory workflows
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills in agile setups
