Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP PO Technical Lead to drive the design, development, and governance of enterprise integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP landscapes. This role will lead large-scale integration programs, including SAP PO implementations and hybrid integrations with SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), while also supporting integration modernization initiatives.
As a technical leader, you will be responsible for architecture, delivery quality, and best practices, working closely with SAP functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders to build scalable and secure integration solutions across on-premise and cloud systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Migration Strategy & Architecture
- Lead the end-to-end migration strategy from SAP PO to Boomi, including assessment, planning, and execution
- Analyze existing SAP PO interfaces and define target-state integration architecture and migration patterns
- Identify opportunities for interface rationalization, consolidation, and modernization during migration
- Define reusable integration frameworks, design standards, and best practices for the target platform
- Partner with enterprise architects to align migration with broader integration and cloud strategy
- SAP PO Landscape Ownership
- Act as the technical authority for the existing SAP PO environment, including ESR, Integration Directory, BPM, and adapters
- Document and rationalize current integration flows, dependencies, and technical configurations
- Ensure continuity of business-critical integrations during migration phases
- Define decommissioning strategy and approach for SAP PO post-migration
- Delivery Leadership
- Lead the execution of migration workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of migrated integrations
- Conduct detailed design reviews, code reviews, and validation of migrated interfaces
- Ensure proper handling of transformations, orchestration, error handling, and performance optimization
- Team Leadership & Enablement
- Manage and mentor a team of integration developers across SAP PO and Boomi
- Drive capability uplift by enabling teams on modern integration patterns and tools
- Allocate work, track progress, and manage delivery risks and dependencies
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues
- Governance, Risk & Quality
- Establish and enforce migration governance, standards, and quality controls
- Manage environment strategy, transport processes, and release cycles across both platforms
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and enterprise integration standards
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data consistency, downtime, and integration failures
- Testing, Cutover & Stabilization
- Define and lead migration testing strategy (unit, SIT, UAT, regression)
- Plan and execute cutover activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
- Oversee post-go-live support and stabilization of migrated integrations
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with SAP functional teams, business stakeholders, and external partners
- Communicate migration progress, risks, and recommendations to leadership
- Contribute to program governance, reporting, and steering discussions
Required Skills
- 8–12+ years of experience in SAP integration and middleware technologies, with strong hands-on expertise in SAP PO/PI
- Proven experience leading large-scale integration initiatives and migration/modernization programs (experience with PO → iPaaS such as Boomi is highly preferred)
- Deep knowledge of SAP PO components (ESR, Integration Directory, BPM) and integration technologies including IDoc, RFC, ABAP Proxy, SOAP, REST, and XML-based messaging
- Strong experience in interface design, message transformation (graphical, XSLT, custom mappings), and adapter configurations (IDoc, SOAP, REST, JMS, SFTP, JDBC, etc.)
- Solid understanding of integration patterns, middleware architecture, and hybrid/cloud integration landscapes
- Experience integrating SAP systems with third-party, SaaS, and legacy platforms
- Exposure to cloud/iPaaS platforms (e.g., Dell Boomi) and modern API-led integration approaches is a plus
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage delivery, and drive technical decisions in complex enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of integration security (authentication, encryption, certificates) and production support practices (monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
- Location: Calgary, AB
- Onsite/Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the client's office.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $76,336 - $179,088 CAD.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.
It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
