Strategy & Transformation Consultant - Life Science

YOUR ROLE

As a Consultant in the Life Sciences team, your role will involve supporting our clients in the pharmaceutical industry through innovative strategy projects around digital, future-proof topics that challenge and transform the status quo.  

  • Work with cross-functional teams in life science clients to perform requirements engineering. 

  • Analyze business processes along the pharma value chain and re-engineer them to be more efficient. 

  • Collaborate with lab teams to identify key data sources and develop a robust data strategy for leveraging that data to support business objectives and drive decision-making. 

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that address their unique challenges and goals. 

  • Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports that detail findings, recommendations, and implementation plans.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You hold an advanced degree (MSc required, PhD preferred) in a life science or chemistry field, ideally in a quantitative/computational subfield. 
  • You have at least 2 years of professional experience in the fields of consulting, pharmaceuticals, or medtech.
  • You have familiarity with general principles of drug design and synthesis, and of the clinical trial lifecycle in the pharma, biotech, or medtech industries.
  • You have a good understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, as well as systems architecture and data flows.
  • You have demonstrated interest in the Life Sciences industry and its applications.
  • You have strong digital literacy, an eye for detail and very good MS Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel. Programming skills in Python and/or R and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI are beneficial. 
  • You are an excellent communicator with outstanding presentation and moderation skills.
  • You effectively convey complex problems and solutions to a diverse audience in a clear and engaging manner.
  • You have excellent command of written and spoken English. Being fluent in German or French is a strong advantage.
  • You are scientifically rigorous in your thinking and precise in your language, yet you thrive in environments that can be ambiguous where key information may not be available.
  • You are comfortable with rapid changes in the work environment and can adapt your strategies and approaches to meet evolving project needs and challenges. 
  • Your time management skills are well developed. You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address complex challenges.
  • You have high reliability, team spirit and personal fit for a leading global management consulting firm (international orientation & openness to travel frequently to client sites as needed, integrity).
  • Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • You are willing and able to go the extra mile when required.
