Capgemini Global Insights & Data business line is a market leader in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, Data Science, and AI and Advanced Analytics across all sectors including financial services, public sector, consumer products, telecommunication & energy resources. Our offerings include end-2-end data integration to cloud platforms, complete suite of data engineering capabilities and a category of sector-based advanced analytics and AI driven solutions.
This is a unique opportunity within the Insights & Data (I&D) Global Business Line (GBL) to help grow the data, AI and Data Science engagements across all sectors in Australia and New Zealand. You will help shape and deliver complex projects and programs of work for our clients. You will understand our client’s need to bring maximum value, impact, and innovation to the market as you oversee the delivery of client engagements for data and AI initiatives.
Let’s talk about the roles and responsibilities:
We are seeking an intermediate-level Data Modeler with experience in the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) framework to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements and BIAN standards. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, understanding business processes, and translating them into robust and scalable data solutions.
- Design and develop data models (conceptual, logical, physical) that support business objectives and adhere to BIAN service landscape principles.
- Translate business requirements and BIAN service landscape components into detailed data models.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and subject matter experts to gather data requirements and understand business processes.
- Ensure data models are normalized, efficient, and meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Document data models, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), data dictionaries, and data lineage.
- Facilitate data modeling workshops and review sessions with stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve data modeling issues and conflicts.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data modeling standards and best practices.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in Data Modeling.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, SQL Developer Data Modeler, PowerDesigner, or Lucidchart.
- Demonstrated experience with the BIAN framework, including an understanding of its service landscape, reference models, and core principles.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing various types of data models, including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL models.
- Strong understanding of SQL and fundamental database concepts.
- Familiarity with multiple database technologies, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience in the financial services or banking industry is highly preferred.
