Mechanical Design Engineer - Tooling

Your Role

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in tooling design for large industrial components. This role focuses on the development, validation, and support of tools used to transport and install wind turbine components.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and develop mechanical tooling such as lifting devices, transport frames, and handling fixtures.
  • Create 2D and 3D models using CREO, managing data through PDM Link/Windchill.
  • Perform structural calculations and FEA simulations (preferably using ANSYS).
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical, structural, and safety standards.
  • Support validation activities, including occasional on‑site testing of prototypes and tools.
  • Contribute to tooling solutions used for transporting and installing large wind turbine components (e.g., towers, blades, or other major assemblies).

Your Profile

 

Mechanical Design

  • Academic background in Mechanical Engineering or similar fields.
  • Strong proficiency in CREO (2D & 3D design).
  • Experience with PDM Link / Windchill for product data management.

 

Structural & FEA Analysis

  • Ability to perform structural assessments and FEA.
  • ANSYS experience preferred.

 

Industry Experience

  • +4 years of experience in similar functions, ideally in the wind energy industry.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Understanding of structural and safety constraints for large‑scale component handling and installation.
  • Availability to attend on‑site tests or validation activities as needed.
