Capgemini is seeking a highly experienced Hydro Power Generation Application Functional Architect to lead the delivery, governance, and growth of Application Management Services (AMS) for Generation application portfolio.
This role will serve as Capgemini's primary on-site functional leader and trusted advisor for Generation Applications, providing strategic direction across application support, enhancement, modernization, and transformation initiatives. The person is expected to spend time at Capgemini Office as well as client location at Vancouver
The successful candidate will combine deep utility industry expertise with strong application management and stakeholder leadership capabilities. They will work closely with business and technology leaders to drive operational excellence, service quality, innovation, cloud adoption, and continuous improvement across Power Generation organization, while helping identify opportunities to expand Capgemini's footprint across Generation, Transmission, and Distribution business domains.

Your role
- Utility Domain Expertise: Provide functional leadership and business advisory services across one or more of the following utility domains: Generation Operations & Energy Management – Hydroelectric operations, generation scheduling, dispatch, and energy optimization. Water Resource Management & Hydro Forecasting – Reservoir operations, hydrological forecasting, water planning, and regulatory water management. Dam Safety & Critical Infrastructure Management – Dam safety programs, instrumentation, risk management, and operational compliance. Generation Asset Management & Reliability – Asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, outage management, and equipment reliability. Utility Governance, Risk & Compliance – NERC/CIP compliance, environmental obligations, regulatory reporting, and operational risk management.
- Functional Architecture & Application Leadership: Provide functional oversight for Hydro power Generation application portfolio. Develop a deep understanding of Generation business capabilities, processes, and supporting technologies. Assess business requirements and evaluate impacts across interconnected systems and application ecosystems. Define application capability roadmaps and support modernization initiatives. Ensure alignment of solutions with utility industry standards, business objectives, and architectural best practices.
- Client & Stakeholder Leadership: Act as Capgemini's primary functional lead and trusted advisor for stakeholders. Build executive-level relationships across Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Planning, Dam Safety, and Technology organizations. Lead governance forums, service reviews, and strategic planning discussions. Translate business priorities into application and technology initiatives. Drive customer satisfaction, service excellence, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for AMS expansion, modernization, digital transformation, and innovation programs. Support business development efforts across Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Enterprise Asset Management domains.
- AMS Delivery Governance & Multi-Vendor Collaboration: Provide functional leadership to multidisciplinary AMS delivery teams. Collaborate effectively within multi-vendor ecosystem. Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, service management, and project delivery partners. Drive cross-vendor collaboration, issue resolution, and shared accountability. Participate in integrated planning, governance, and transformation initiatives.

Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, Hydrology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 15+ years of utility industry experience within electric utilities, hydropower organizations, or integrated energy companies. 7+ years’ experience supporting hydro power Generation.
- Exposure to Transmission, or Distribution business functions.
- 10+ years of experience in application management, business architecture, enterprise applications, functional consulting, or digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of utility operational processes, enterprise applications, and technology ecosystems.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 83,144 - 185,060
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
