YOUR ROLE

As an OT & Smart Grid Expert you play a pivotal role in designing, integrating, and securing OT systems that support critical energy and utility environments. With the rapid rise of renewable energy and distributed assets, smart grid management faces new levels of complexity, areas in which Capgemini Engineering is already delivering expertise in complex systems and real time energy technologies.

In this role, you will: 

  • Design and shape comprehensive OT architectures and smart grid environments.
  • Develop strategic OT integration roadmaps across multi-disciplinary domains. 
  • Perform in depth technical assessments of existing OT ecosystems and identify modernization opportunities
  • Create and maintain reference architectures for domain specific control networks, ensuring compliance with domain-specific standards aligned with industry best practices.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives by integrating advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive maintenance technologies into OT infrastructure. 
  • Evaluate and recommend industrial automation technologies, control systems, and networking solutions.
  • Develop strategies that strenghten IT/OT covergence.
  • Guide migration and modernization of OT platforms, including legacy environments.
  • Provide technical leadership with OR transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architectures with business and operational objectives.
  • Produce clear system documentation, blueprints, and design specifications.

YOUR PROFILE

You are an experienced OT professional who thrives at the intersection of energy technology, digitalization, and critical infrastructure. You enjoy working collaboratively, translating complex systems into actionable designs, and contributing to projects that help modernize the energy landscape.. 

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Senior experience in OT architecture or OT system design in the energy or utility sector. 
  • Deep understanding of ICS/ Energy Management Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Telemetry protocols like IEC-60870-5-104/101 and IEC-61850, Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP). 
  • Experience with EMS/automation platforms such as Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, GE Vernova, or AspenTech. 
  • Strong foundation in OT cybersecurity, familiarity with industry standards like NIST, IEC 62443.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation technologies.  
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
