Lead (AI) Application Engineer

Do you get a kick out of building applications that are as intelligent as they are scalable? As a Lead (AI) Application Engineer at Blue Harvest, you bridge the gap between enterprise software engineering and the rapidly evolving world of AI. You will design, build, and deliver modern software solutions for leading financial institutions, while helping clients unlock the value of technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows. Alongside your technical contributions, you will mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and drive engineering excellence across projects.

In this role you will be working on:

• Designing and implementing enterprise-grade backend and full-stack solutions for banks, insurers, and pension providers
• Integrating AI capabilities such as LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and intelligent automation into modern application landscapes
• Building and orchestrating APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures on cloud-native platforms
• Leading by example through hands-on software development, code reviews, technical coaching, and engineering best practices
• Collaborating with clients to translate business challenges into future-proof technical roadmaps and AI-enabled solutions
• Contributing to internal innovation initiatives, engineering communities, knowledge-sharing sessions, and thought leadership activities
• Supporting the adoption of modern DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud-native development practices across teams.

You Have:

• Strong experience in backend software engineering, preferably with Java, and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Experience designing and building cloud-native applications on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Hands-on experience integrating AI technologies including LLMs, RAG architectures, agentic workflows, LangChain, or Semantic Kernel
• Knowledge of API design, microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with experience guiding teams and promoting engineering excellence
• You make conscious use of AI tools, critically evaluate their output, and leverage technology to work more efficiently
