In this internship, you will analyze live websites, validate components, and bridge the gap between design and development, while exploring how emerging AI capabilities can transform design operations. This role offers hands-on impact and includes the opportunity to develop a Master’s thesis within a forward-thinking, digital environment.

UX Design Systems & AI Innovation Intern

As a UX Design System & Web Consistency Intern within Group IT, you will support the UX Design team in strengthening and scaling our design system across the .com landscape. Your focus will be on ensuring alignment between design documentation and real-world implementation while contributing to the evolution and governance of our design system.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the maintenance and evolution of our design system in Figma
• Testing and validating components before developer handoff and deployment
• Auditing live websites to identify inconsistencies between design specifications and implementation
• Documenting findings and translating them into actionable improvement proposals
• Advising and collaborating with development teams to improve UI consistency and UX quality
• Contributing to documentation, governance, and quality assurance processes
• Researching and exploring future-oriented best practices in design systems
• Investigating how AI-driven design tooling (e.g., emerging Figma capabilities and automation) can enhance scalability, governance, and innovation

This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of UX design, design operations, and digital quality management in a forward-looking, AI-enabled environment.

You will join our global Group IT UX department. We work primarily in a remote-first environment, with your supervisor available online and on-site every second week to guide you in person. Why are you a fit for this internship?

We are looking for a motivated Bachelor or Master student with a strong interest in UX, design systems, and digital consistency.

You:

• Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in UX Design, Interaction Design, Digital Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communication & Multimedia Design, or a related field
• Have solid working knowledge of Figma (experience with components, variants, and libraries is a plus)
• Have a strong eye for detail and consistency
• Are analytically minded and enjoy identifying patterns, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities
• Are comfortable documenting findings in a structured and clear way
• Have an interest in how AI and automation are transforming design workflows
• Understand the basics of front-end development (HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus, not mandatory)
• Communicate clearly in English and feel confident collaborating with designers and developers
• Are proactive, curious, and eager to contribute to a growing and evolving design system
• Strong command of English (spoken and written), as it is the main working language
• Availability for a full-time internship (32–40 hours per week)
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Interest in UX, design, and/or AI-driven innovation

This role is ideal for students who are interested in design systems, UX quality assurance, and the operational side of design within a large digital ecosystem.
