Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full software development lifecycle of mainframe applications, from requirements gathering to deployment. This role involves providing technical solutions, ensuring code quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle for mainframe applications.
• Provide technical solutions and perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Stay updated with industry trends and recommend innovative improvements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance development processes and team productivity.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Optimize mainframe systems for performance and efficiency.
• Support testing efforts and resolve defects in a timely manner.
• Participate in release management and deployment activities.
• Understand business processes and how mainframe applications support them.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in mainframe development (e.g., COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS).
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of modernizing legacy systems.
• Exposure to cloud integration with mainframe systems.
