Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Report directly to the Head of Insights & Data to support the day-to-day management of a team of ~40 data and analytics professionals in applied AI, data architecture, data engineering, data visualization, and ERP analytics.
Act as a strategic advisor to C-suite clients in the financial services sector, with a focus on insurance, but also supporting banking and capital markets, and other non-FS sectors.
Lead client engagements from opportunity shaping through to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and measurable business value.
Drive business development efforts, including proposal creation, client presentations, and deal closure, leveraging Capgemini’s global capabilities.
Own and deliver against revenue targets, utilization goals, and team performance KPIs.
Represent the Tokyo office in regional and global forums, contributing to thought leadership and innovation in data and AI strategy.
While remote work is allowed, as a senior member of the team, the candidate will be expected to ensure on-site presence at client locations as needed and maintain a strong in-office culture with a minimum of three, typically four days per week in the office.
Job Description - Grade Specific
Requirements and Qualifications:
10+ years of consulting or relevant industry experience in data and digital transformation in the financial services sector, with a strong foundation in technical delivery and recent focus on strategic advisory and business development.
An SME-level understanding of a wide range of topics across data strategy, applied AI/ML and enterprise data architecture. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong client-facing skills with the ability to present to and influence senior stakeholders and drive executive-level conversations.
Proven track record of success in a top-tier consulting firm or equivalent with experience owning project P&L, having and consistently meeting revenue targets, with experience managing large teams and complex programs across multiple workstreams.
Bilingual proficiency: Native level proficiency in either English or Japanese, and fluent in the other (JLPT N2 or above required for Japanese with at least 3 years of experience working in Japan, in Japanese).
Educational Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred, especially with a focus on strategy, analytics, or digital transformation.
