Position Overview
We are looking for a system maintenance staff to support maintenance, daily operations, and small-scale enhancements of the capital markets platform for a major Japanese city bank. This position plays a key role in ensuring stable system operation across Front, Middle, and Risk functions.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Murex MX.3 System Support
- Handle inquiries related to FO/BO/Risk modules
- Conduct configuration analysis (Static Data, Curves, Market Data, Simulation)
- Troubleshoot issues related to trades and positions
2. Incident Management (L1/L2)
- Analyze logs from Murex / UNIX / DB
- Assess impact and support permanent fix planning
- Execute recovery procedures during system incidents
3. Job Operations / Batch Monitoring
- Monitor End-of-Day (EOD) processes and interface jobs
- Perform recovery, rerun, and root cause investigation in abnormal situations
- Work with monitoring tools such as JP1, Zabbix, Splunk
4. Interface (I/F) Integration Management
- Monitor data transmission with external systems
- Manage SFTP / API / MQ connectivity
- Coordinate with vendors and bank teams during incidents
5. Minor Enhancements / Configuration Changes
- Set up new products and adjust system parameters
- Support Test / UAT activities
- Plan and execute release operations
6. Optional Development Support
- Integrate Murex output files with external calculation engines
- Assist operational workflows related to those integrations
Key Requirements
Required Skills
- 2+ years of support or operation experience with capital markets systems
- Basic UNIX/Linux operations (log handling, job checks)
- SQL investigation experience (Oracle or Sybase)
- Experience in system operations or development in financial institutions (bank/securities)
- Experience handling incidents and communicating with users
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Murex MX.3 modules (Simulation, Workflow, Datamart)
- Knowledge of capital markets products (IRS, FX, Bonds, Options, etc.)
- EOD batch design/operation experience (including JP1 or similar job control platforms)
- Experience with SFTP / API / MQ connectivity and troubleshooting
- Shell or Python scripting
- English reading ability (Murex documentation includes English content)
