Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior System Maintenance Consultant to strengthen the maintenance and operational capabilities of the capital markets systems for a major Japanese bank. This role focuses on stable operations, incident response, and small-scale enhancements across FO, MO, and Risk domains.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Murex MX.3 System Support

  • Provide end‑to‑end support for FO/BO/Risk modules
  • Analyze system configurations (Static Data, Curves, Market Data, Simulation)
  • Troubleshoot trade and position issues

2. Incident Management (L1/L2)

  • Conduct log analysis (Murex / UNIX / DB)
  • Assess system impact and propose permanent fixes
  • Lead or support recovery actions during system issues

3. Batch / Job Monitoring

  • Monitor EOD processing and interface jobs
  • Handle abnormal job recovery, reruns, and root cause investigation
  • Work with monitoring tools (JP1, Zabbix, Splunk, etc.)

4. Interface (I/F) Integration Management

  • Monitor message/file transmission to/from external systems
  • Manage SFTP / API / MQ connectivity
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal bank teams during incidents

5. Minor Enhancements / Configuration Changes

  • Handle new product setup and parameter adjustments
  • Support Test / UAT
  • Plan and execute release activities

6. Optional Development Tasks

  • Integrate Murex output files with external calculation engines
  • Support operational workflows for integration

Key Requirements

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of support or operations experience with capital markets systems
  • Basic UNIX/Linux operations (logs, job checks, etc.)
  • SQL analysis experience (Oracle or Sybase)
  • Experience in system operations or development within financial institutions
  • Strong incident-handling and user communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Murex MX.3 (Simulation, Workflow, Datamart)
  • Understanding of market products (IRS, FX, Bonds, Options, etc.)
  • EOD batch operation experience (JP1 or equivalent)
  • SFTP/API/MQ configuration experience
  • Shell or Python scripting
  • English reading ability (Murex manuals include English content)

  • Effective communication with business users
  • Detail‑oriented and consistent in performing maintenance tasks
  • Interested in bridging knowledge from current systems to future upgrade projects
