Senior Commercial Manager

About the job you’re considering​

Commercial management role within the Capgemini Commercial Team, providing ongoing Commercial and Contractual support for Projects, Programmes and Services Teams working directly with the client. Account turnover circa £350m pa. The role will also provide commercial support to new client tenders/bids and work closely with the teams Ecosystem and Partner Relationship Management functions to build and maintain positive, value-creation relationships with suppliers.

it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the

Your role ​

•    Work across the business, supporting multiple complex commercial arrangements
•    Be a lead contributor to the structure, review and commercial approval of new bids Change Requests, Proposals and Contract Change Notes
•    Provide proactive commercial input to client proposals; deals; bids and supporting subsequent commercial negotiations
•    Assist with commercial issues escalation, investigation and resolution
•    Attendance at relevant client meetings with stakeholders
•    Maintain commercial and contract documentation to ensure currency and availability
•    Process development, commercial governance and obligation management (including advice to non-commercial teams on commercial-related processes)
•    Support the Partner Relationship Manager and Ecosystem team to build and maintain positive, value-creation relationships with suppliers
•    Build multi-category skills to support the wide range of procurement and partner relationship management requirements needed to fulfil multiple contractual engagements with our customer
•    Support delivery and the business on bid work, helping to win and maintain business, drive value and mitigate risk
•    Contract interpretation and communication of contract changes and commercial decisions as required
•    Commercial advice/awareness/contract education
•    Work closely with legal counsel

Your skills and experience

•    Relevant Commercial and Contract management experience working with UK public sector or legislation driven sectors such as energy or telecoms.
•    Experience of proposal/bid development and approvals
•    Understands the principles and needs of risk management
•    A strong consultative and stakeholder management approach
•    Works effectively in a cross-functional collaborative environment, proactively supporting others and readily embracing new challenges
•    Positive energy, strong work ethic and a track record of encouraging this in others
•    Able to work under pressure and retain composure in demanding situations
•    Demonstrates a flexible attitude and ability to identify optimisation opportunities
•    A broad business focussed ethos
