Our SAP Packaged Based Solutions Practice delivers and evolves HMRC’s SAP platform, the most extensive deployment of its kind worldwide. Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex deliveries, leading teams and shaping solutions that drive transformation across HMRC’s SAP platform. You will work with senior clients, delivery teams and architects to shape solutions, guide delivery, and ensure change lands safely in a highly regulated environment. Your role will span the full lifecycle, from early design and mobilisation through to implementation and transition into live service, with a clear focus on quality, governance and measurable outcomes. Experience in SAP delivery would be valuable we are equally interested in any experience leading complex solution implementations across complex environments.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, from shaping requirements and design through build, test, deployment and handover.
  • Run client workshops and governance forums, turning complex business and operational needs into clear templated solutions.
  • Provide delivery oversight and solution governance, ensuring designs are compliant, supportable and aligned to agreed standards.
  • Ensure quality and proactively manage risks, mitigating delivery challenges and supporting a smooth transition to live services.
  • Build strong client relationships through credible interactions.
  • Develop and support consultants and wider teams strengthening the overall capability of the group
  • Contribute to broader strategic thinking, advising on roadmap priorities, service improvement opportunities and transformation choices.

Your skills and experience

  • Strong experience leading complex technology delivery, ideally across large, business-critical platforms in regulated or public sector environments.
  • Excellent consulting skills, with the ability to lead client discussions, shape solution thinking, and turn complex requirements into clear, credible delivery content.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and able to build confidence quickly through clear communication, and strong client handling.
  • A track record of owning work through the full lifecycle, from early shaping and design through build, testing, implementation and transition into live service.
  • Commitment to developing others through coaching and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience working on major enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle or similar would be valuable.
  • Knowledge of SAP TRM, PSCD, FI-CA, S/4HANA, BRIM or BTP would be helpful, but we are equally interested in people with transferable experience delivering solutions at scale and the consulting skills to learn quickly.
  • Professional certifications and relevant financial or accountancy knowledge would be an advantage.
