Technical Project Manager - Data Cloud

As Technical Project Manager - Data Cloud, you will play a critical role in driving the successful delivery of large scale data platform initiatives within Group IT. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and delivery ensuring that Data Cloud solutions are executed predictably, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong delivery discipline with a deep understanding of modern cloud data platforms. Your Role

As Technical Project Manager for Data Cloud, you are accountable for the end to end planning, coordination, and execution of Data Cloud initiatives. You will ensure technical delivery aligns with architectural intent, engineering best practices, and enterprise standards.
In this role, you will:
•    Drive the end to end delivery of Data Cloud initiatives, including ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and platform services
•    Translate architectural designs and technical roadmaps into executable delivery plans, milestones, and prioritized engineering backlogs
•    Coordinate development activities across data engineers, platform engineers, DevOps, and analytics teams
•    Partner closely with Data Architects and Lead Engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with target architectures
•    Govern the full development lifecycle, from design readiness through deployment and production stabilization
•    Manage release planning across teams, ensuring quality gates, production readiness, and operational handover are met
•    Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks related to performance, scalability, data quality, security, and cloud cost
•    Track and report technical delivery metrics such as velocity, burn down, blockers, and defect trends to provide clear delivery forecasts
•    Facilitate alignment and decision making across engineering, architecture, security, governance, and business stakeholders

Your Profile

•    Experience delivering cloud based data platforms such as data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse or medallion architectures
•    Strong hands on understanding of data engineering concepts, including ingestion patterns, transformations, orchestration, metadata, and observability
•    Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including environment setup, IAM, networking, and cost considerations
•    Experience working with modern development practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps
•    Proven track record leading complex technical projects with multiple teams and dependencies
