Job Description

As a Technology Risk Manager, you will play a key role in providing outcome-focused risks and controls assessments that influences Technology risks oversight over projects and portfolios.

Risk Management frameworks

  • Support risk management activities ensuring alignment to the 3 lines of defence model and Operational
  • Develop and prepare risk reporting and monitoring effectiveness of actions taken to manage identified risks and intervene as appropriate
  • Ensure project change is managed in accordance with governance methodologies and frameworks
  • Understand, identify, and assess risks during the project implementation and post implementation
  • including overall impact to project and operational risk profile throughout the lifecycle
  • Establish and lead project risk workshops to identify risks and ensure appropriate controls are adopted

Change Enablement

  • Ability to identify risk position of project change in accordance with the Operational Risk and Compliance framework
  • Assess, recommend, and advise on risk management to enable sponsors to make fully informed choices around risk position and profile
  • Identify and assess risk impact and engage stakeholders to recognize appropriate actions to mitigate the impact

Controls Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding stakeholders on compliance and provide insights and recommendations to enable them to effectively manage risk
  • Awareness of SOX and Prudential control framework
  • Ability to utilise the Technology Controls Library and other control frameworks to actively identify risk and apply the relevant controls to identified risks
  • Utilise existing processes to monitor the effectiveness of controls in line with Client’s methodology
  • Ensure relevant project stakeholders implement data integrity controls to minimise any operational risks

Technology Acumen

  • Understand high level controls that pervade through the various technical applications, including teams, structure and solutioning
  • Understand service management lifecycle across technical solutions and functions
  • Understand the technology, the infrastructure, platforms, and systems and how that translates into the business and business requirements
  • Ensure projects with technology solutions are appropriately designed

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Understand project lifecycle including project plans, business case, contingencies, critical paths
  • Understand how to manage and monitor implementation of multiple project plans and handle obstacles effectively
  • Understand project plans, framework and outcomes and identify how this may impact the technology risks associated with the project
  • Through experience and lessons learnt, support the project team to achieve required outputs of projects whilst directly minimising risk outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with stakeholders to develop and drive potential efficiency and improvements in project risk management
  • Support activities that provide the stakeholders with insights that influence decisions and enable objectives within risk appetite
  • Support in the oversight of risk-related incidents and breaches
  • Understand a matrix of inputs across regulatory relations, controls and business risk and their impacts across projects/programs and stakeholders

 

The Risk Specialist would also:

  • Ensure strategic objectives are implemented, risks managed, and benefits realized
  • Advise the projects and programs on how to identify, monitor, measure and manage existing and emerging risks
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge the effectiveness of risks and controls during pre and post implementation of projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

 

Experience, Background, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Candidate will have minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk, Compliance, Assurance and Regulatory areas.
  • Preferred candidate with professional consulting experience in risk management ideally with a Big4 or similar large consulting firm.
  • Good understanding of Technology Risk and Compliance frameworks is preferred.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with a proven track record in stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to manage multiple work streams/tasks simultaneously.
  • Candidates with certifications like CISA, CRISC, and PRINCE2/Agile will be preferred.
  • The resource must have technology risk experience in financial markets applications.
  • Candidates should be well versed with Financial Markets and Institutional Banking applications such as ACF2, AHM Mainframe, AO-X, Application Infra CS90, APS1, Artemis, ATM base 24 front end, ATM host application, Avaloq bank system, Bankfile, Batch Interface System, Big Data platform, Bloomberg, Blue Prism robotics, BSM-Control and Credit Connect.

Key capabilities and skills:

  • Risks and Controls Management within technology space.
  • The resource must have technology risk experience in financial markets applications.
  • It is absolutely essential that they have change experience while run is important.
