Team Lead- IP Network Engineer

Your role

Led the delivery of an IP network design and implementation program in the telecommunications domain, directing a team of senior network engineers and engineers to execute a critical IP core network modernisation initiative.

 

You will play a key role in:

  • Lead the delivery of a program comprising of Network Design and Implementation in IP networks in telecom domain.
  • Govern, track and manage a program comprising of multiple sub-stream work packets running in parallel.
  • Network Design and Implementation: Planning, designing, and implementing IP networks in telecom domain.
  • Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Implementing and maintaining network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and network access control (NAC).
  • Troubleshooting network problems, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions to ensure network stability and performance.
  • Documenting network configurations, procedures, and policies, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Working with other professionals and stakeholders to ensure network requirements are met.

Your profile

  • A bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP) are highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders and strong presentation skills to be able to report program governance status in review forums.
  • Strong team leadership skills to lead a team of network engineers.
  • Strong understanding of IP protocols (including OSPF, BGP), networking concepts, and technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing telecom network architectures, primarily IP-based mobile core network. Re-designing and implementing network flows based on the project requirements.
  • Familiarity with data centre fabric technologies including ACI and EVPN-VXLAN.
  • Design and configuration of telco grade firewalls and security policy management, preferably Fortinet, F5 and checkpoint firewalls.
