Sr Network Design Engineer (IP Core)

Job Description

As a Senior Network Design Engineer (IP Core), you are responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance IP network solutions within telecom environments, leveraging technologies such as IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and EVPN-VXLAN. You will develop high-level and low-level designs (HLDs/LLDs), Methods of Procedure (MoPs), and contribute to ongoing network architecture evolution, while overseeing the configuration and integration of routers, switches, and firewalls. In this role, you will ensure network stability, optimize performance, and implement robust security frameworks, while proactively troubleshooting complex issues and maintaining adherence to industry standards. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, efficient, and future-ready network solutions aligned with business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust IP network architectures in telecom environments Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Implement and maintain network security policies (firewalls, IDS, NAC)
• Troubleshoot network issues and ensure optimal performance and availability
• Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet business and technical requirements

Key Responsibilities / Specific Tasks 

• Develop High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and Methods of Procedure (MoPs)
• Design and deploy VXLAN, IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF based network solutions
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize configurations 
• Perform network upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities
• Implement security controls to protect infrastructure and data 
• Contribute to architectural enhancements and network transformation initiatives 

Required Skills & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field Certifications (Preferred) 
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE

Technical Skills 

• Strong knowledge of IP protocols (BGP, OSPF) and networking fundamentals
• Experience in telecom network design, especially IP-based mobile core networks
• Hands-on expertise with Data Center Technologies (ACI, EVPN-VXLAN)
• Experience with telco-grade firewalls (Fortinet, F5, Checkpoint preferred)
• Knowledge of network security concepts and implementations
