Senior Network Engineer (BlueCat DDI)

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilites 

• Configure, manage, and maintain BlueCat DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
• Administer DNS services, including zone management, record creation, and resolution optimization across internal and external environments
• Implement and maintain DNS security controls such as DNSSEC and protection against DDoS and other DNS-based threats
• Manage DHCP servers, scopes, failover configurations, and IP lease allocations to ensure efficient and reliable address distribution
• Perform IP address planning, allocation, and lifecycle management using BlueCat IPAM tools to optimize address space utilization
• Monitor DDI systems proactively to ensure uptime, performance, and capacity, and take corrective actions as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex DNS and DHCP-related network issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with network, cloud, and systems teams to integrate DDI services with enterprise infrastructure and applications
• Support hybrid and cloud integrations, ensuring seamless operation across on-premises and cloud-based environments
• Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance requirements for all DDI components
• Conduct audits of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM configurations to ensure adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change records
• Automate routine DDI tasks and processes using APIs, scripting, or orchestration tools to improve efficiency and scalability
• Participate in incident management, change management, and on-call support to maintain business continuity
• Continuously evaluate and optimize DDI architecture and processes to enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency

Job Description - Grade Specific

• Technical experience managing enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM environments
• Hands-on experience with BlueCat DDI solutions (Address Manager, DNS/DHCP servers)
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and subnetting
• Experience with DNS protocols and technologies (BIND, DNSSEC, etc.)
• Familiarity with DHCP architecture, failover, and high availability

Preferred Qualifications

• BlueCat Certified Professional (BCP) or similar certification
• Experience with cloud-based networking (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, etc.)
• Knowledge of network automation (Python, REST APIs, Ansible)
• Experience integrating DDI with security tools (SIEM, firewall, NAC)
• ITIL certification or experience working in ITIL-based environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
