Your Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Finance Insurance Business Analyst to join our team. The role involves providing advanced systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support for application software.
Your role will be responsible for assisting the business with requests/requirements related to BAU processes and issue resolution, as well as managing new requirements and changes to new and existing Reinsurance software platforms.
You will play a key role in:
- Responsible for conducting analysis of existing processes and applications to meet the objectives of the assigned products
- Work with Product Owner and Platform Manager to prioritise feature development
- Eliciting and creating initial features and elaborating into user stories
- Facilitate feature refinement sessions
- Participate in estimation and sprint planning sessions
- Participate in retrospectives
- Assist in traceability of features and user stories
- Backlog refining with the Product Owner.
- Coordinate acceptance and approval of stories with the Product Owner
- Work with SME’s, Dev’s and Testers to ensure acceptance criteria are developed for all stories
- Identify business rules and constraints
- Work across a matrixed environment to collaborate with cross-functional platform pods
- Lead requirements walkthrough sessions to gain consensus amongst stakeholders
- Review the solution and identify gaps in solutions and acceptance criteria
- Conduct root cause analysis, problem solve and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Support developers and testers pre- and during build
- Coordinate multi-system solutions to clarify interdependencies.
- Conduct workshops to identify requirements and document new features and user stories
- Perform testing in Dev, SYS and UAT environment as required.
Your profile
- 3+ years’ experience as a business analyst
- Experience/competent understanding of Life Insurance.
- Finance experience covering Reconciliation processes, GL, Accounts payables and receivable.
- Experienced in Agile delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in writing User Stories
- Strong experience in product development using an Agile approach
- Experience with legacy systems
