Cloud and Datacenter Architect

Job Description

As Cloud and Datacenter Architect, you are responsible for designing, governing, and evolving secure, scalable, and resilient cloud and data center solutions that align with business and application requirements. You will translate complex technical needs into clear architectural designs, define standard design patterns, and provide leadership across hybrid and cloud platforms. Working closely with clients, engineering teams, and security stakeholders, you will influence architectural decisions, participate in architecture forums, and ensure solutions meet operational, compliance, and industry standards. You will also play a key role in developing architectural capability within the team through mentoring and best‑practice guidance.

Major Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyze, and validate application and infrastructure requirements to design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud and data center solutions.
• Establish and govern standard architectural design patterns, reference architectures, and best practices across hybrid and cloud platforms.
• Develop and maintain both high‑level architecture diagrams and detailed low‑level designs to support implementation and operations teams.
• Represent the architecture function in client and internal architecture forums, providing strategic guidance, design assurance, and technical leadership.
• Build architectural capability within the team by mentoring engineers and architects and promoting strong design and documentation practices. 

Job Description - Grade Specific

• 10+ years of hands‑on operational experience in cloud and/or data center environments, with strong depth across compute and networking technologies.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing enterprise‑grade cloud and data center architectures, including hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated experience working within banking or financial services environments, understanding regulatory and resilience requirements.
• Solid background working in formal security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
