Your Role

As a Platform Engineer Specialist at Capgemini, you will help clients design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and self-service platform solutions. You will combine hands-on engineering with platform strategy, automation, developer enablement, governance, and operational excellence.
Platform Engineering is becoming one of the most important disciplines in modern software development. Organisations are investing heavily in developer platforms, cloud-native technologies, automation and AI-enabled engineering to help teams deliver software faster, more securely and at greater scale. We are growing our Platform Engineering capability across Sweden and are looking for Platform Engineers and Senior Platform Engineers who want to help clients solve complex engineering challenges, modernise software delivery and build platforms that enable hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of developers.
This is a client-facing consulting role where you will combine hands-on engineering with architecture, automation, platform strategy and developer enablement. You will work with leading organisations across multiple industries, helping them establish modern platform capabilities that accelerate innovation while maintaining high standards for security, reliability and governance.

This is a client-facing consulting role, and your work setup may vary between hybrid, onsite, or client-based engagements depending on the assignment. You can be based in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Malmö, Växjö, or Älmhult.

In this role, you will play a key part in:

• Design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, enabling modern delivery through CI/CD, self-service tooling, and internal developer platforms.
• Developing golden paths, reusable templates, platform APIs, and service catalogues that make it easier for engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate services.
• Driving automation and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Establishing platform standards, reference architectures and governance including platform security, identity and access management, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Support clients in moving AI initiatives from experimentation to secure, scalable, production-ready solutions.
  
  

Your profile

• Hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related field.
• A strong understanding of modern platform engineering principles and how self-service solutions can improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
• Programming or scripting experience using Python, Go, C#, Java, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience in applying security, governance, and responsible AI principles in an enterprise environment.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q, Gemini Code Assist, or similar.
• A practical understanding of modern AI concepts and patterns, including LLMs, prompting, context engineering, RAG, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• The ability to combine strategic platform thinking with hands-on technical delivery in complex environments.
• Clear communication with technical teams and client stakeholders, and an interest in working in a consulting context.
