Job Description
Your role
We are now looking for a Design Quality Specialist to join our team in Stockholm. Are you passionate about design and driven by the details that turn a good product into a great one? Do you enjoy combining technical expertise with a sharp eye for quality, appearance, and finish? This is the role for you!
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Verify that perceived quality, appearance, and design quality requirements are met for interior and exterior components.
- Evaluate supplier parts against shape, surface, texture, colour, gloss, and styling requirements, identifying and documenting defects through the Appearance Approval Report (AAR) process.
- Participate in technical reviews before tool production, supporting design engineers and SQA with best practices to prevent tooling and manufacturing-related defects.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, tool makers, and production plants to resolve appearance, quality, and tooling issues.
- Drive continuous improvement within the AAR process, share lessons learned, and travel to supplier sites when required to support quality improvements and issue resolution.
Your profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Product Development or Manufacturing, preferably including 2–3 years within AAR or Design Quality.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, die casting, vacuum forming, tooling, and production methods.
- Experience evaluating component appearance and surface quality, with an understanding of Moldflow, manufacturing constraints, perceived quality, gap & flush, and supplier collaboration.
- Correct colour vision and a strong interest in design are required. Fluent English is essential, while Swedish is considered an advantage.
- Earlier experience from a similar role in Automotive is meritorious
What we believe will make you thrive with us:
- Work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of premium automotive products together with industry-leading customers.
- A culture that strongly supports your professional and skills development
- The opportunity to work for a global company where our project solutions have both local and international impact
This role will be on-site at our client in Automotive close to Stockholm, but it’s part of a project-based assignment with a lot of flexibility.
Application
As part of our recruitment process, identity verification will be conducted through a review of your ID document, and background checks may be carried out when necessary.
In this recruitment process, we might ask about your current citizenship. This is due to some of our projects being aimed at the military and defence industry. For those openings, a Swedish citizenship is needed. We will also perform an ID-check during the interview phase for all candidates.
