Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Backend Squad Lead to guide a team of backend engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems. You will be responsible for technical leadership, team mentorship, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality backend services.Lead a squad of backend engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship.Facilitate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives). Collaborate with Product Managers, QA, and other squads to deliver features on time.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Technical Ownership:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
  • Review code, enforce best practices, and ensure high code quality.
  • Drive architectural decisions and contribute to system design.

Delivery & Operations:

  • Ensure timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident management.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for your squad.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of backend development experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in [e.g., Java, Node.js, Python, Go, etc.].
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and message queues.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
