Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications with integrated AI capabilities. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in software engineering who are passionate about modern development practices, cloud technologies, and emerging AI tools.
You will work in a collaborative agile environment alongside experienced engineers, contributing to real-world solutions while continuously learning and growing your technical expertise.
Job Description
1. Software Development & AI Implementation
- Develop scalable, resilient cloud-native applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Implement AI-driven features by integrating machine learning models, APIs, and cloud AI services into production applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and produce comprehensive technical documentation and decision records.
2. Cloud Development & Deployment
- Build and deploy applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, leveraging core services and AI capabilities.
- Develop microservices, containerised applications, and serverless components within larger system architectures.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and monitor application performance in cloud environments.
3. Agile Team Collaboration
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with lead developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to story estimation, task breakdown, and sprint goal achievement while embracing agile principles and continuous learning.
Job Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering, preferably with exposure to cloud-based applications.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Golang, or similar.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming).
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub workflows).
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), API design, version control (Git), SDLC, and testing methodologies.
- Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and understanding of cloud services.
- Familiarity with containerisation (e.g., Docker), microservices architecture, and API development.
- Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
- Exposure to AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) is an advantage.
