React JS Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced  React JS Developer  to join the Consumer Banking team in SG. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing user interface components using React.js and workflows within the banking ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with frontend frameworks and be well-versed in API integrations, development tools, and agile methodologies.

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. 1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems. 2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance. 3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. 4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

-  Frontend Development:  Develop responsive and dynamic web applications using React.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.  
-  API Integration:  Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, including asynchronous requests and AJAX calls.  
-  Cross-Browser Compatibility:  Ensure consistent user experience across multiple browsers and platforms.  
-  Version Control & CI/CD:  Utilize tools such as GIT, SVN, and Jenkins for version control and deployment.  
-  Code Quality:  Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with proper documentation.  
-  Collaboration:  Work with backend developers and product owners to deliver end-to-end solutions.  
-  Troubleshooting:  Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues and bugs.  
-  Best Practices:  Follow agile methodologies, including participation in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.  

Technical Skills

-  Frontend Development:  Proficiency in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.  
-  Frameworks & Tools:  Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular is a plus).  
-  API Integration:  Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and AJAX.  
-  Database:  Knowledge of SQL and database concepts (preferably on UNIX-based databases).  
-  Version Control:  Hands-on experience with GIT, SVN, and Jenkins.  
-  CI/CD & DevOps:  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools like Bamboo and Jenkins.  
-  Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC):  Experience working in an Agile environment using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.  
-  Code Optimization:  Understanding of CSS pre-processors like SASS/LESS and cross-browser compatibility techniques.  

Qualifications

-  Experience:  4-6 years of hands-on experience in front-end development, with at least 2-3 years using React.js.  
-  Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  
-  Projects:  Proven experience in developing consumer-facing applications or banking systems is a plus.
