Full Stack Engineer (Tableau)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with hands-on Tableau Server experience to develop, enhance and support digital applications, analytics platforms and system integrations. The engineer will work across frontend, backend and Tableau components, including Tableau Server configuration and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
  • Set up, configure, administer and maintain Tableau Server across relevant environments.
  • Manage Tableau Server configuration, upgrades, user access, permissions, data source connectivity and platform settings.
  • Monitor Tableau Server health, availability and performance, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Support integration of Tableau with enterprise applications, databases and data sources.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and other system integrations.
  • Develop frontend applications and components using technologies such as ReactJS and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, deployment and production issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD activities.
  • Maintain system configurations, technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with product, business, design, data and engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau Server setup, configuration, administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing Tableau Server access, permissions, data source connectivity and upgrades.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Python.
  • Experience with modern web development frameworks such as ReactJS or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, web services and system integration.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git, testing and CI/CD practices.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Relevant Tableau certification or substantial Tableau Server administration experience.
  • Experience integrating Tableau with enterprise data platforms and applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale or Government systems.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, RAG and Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts.
