Job Summary
You will be responsible for managing the trading system as well as applications and processes related to portfolio management and execution.
Besides working on enhancements and/or implementation projects, you will also be involved in the monitoring, analysing and troubleshooting of front-office processes to ensure their smooth functioning. This includes liaising with the in-house IT department, external service providers as well as the client’s other business departments who are involved in the trade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with portfolio managers to understand their business requirements, and translating these business requirements to technical requirements, and vice versa
- Design, test and implement processes/tools/systems in partnership with in-house IT, risk, and finance teams as well as external software vendors and service providers to support the front-office investment workflow
- Develop and write test plans for system, process and product upgrades, as well as participate in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Develop and maintain user guides and documentations relating to processes/tools/systems implemented for front-office investment workflow
- Plan and work with the client’s multiple departments– on implementing road maps of desired front-office workflow, including feature development and upgrades
- Ensure front-office processes and procedures meet internal standards for data integrity, security and auditability
- Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot front-office processes to ensure their smooth functioning. This includes liaising with the in-house IT department as well as external service provider in the troubleshooting and resolution of production issue
- Manage project implementations with vendors and service providers, covering procurement and related administrative issues
- Oversee change management to facilitate new product and/or system adoption, including possible re-engineering of workflow and processes.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in business-related or IT-related fields
- At least 4 years relevant working experience, including business analysis/product management of system used in similar functions, in asset management domain
- Strong sense of ownership and growth mindset
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with good problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of user-centric principles and/or service design
- Adept communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders across all levels
- Experience working in cross-functional groups, representing views of different stakeholders and influencing teams towards achieving shared goal
- Ability to manage a number of projects at the same time, with varying technical requirements, level of stakeholder engagement and completion timeline
- Ability to adapt to changing business requirements due to unforeseen restrictions / constraints in the existing system.
- Experience in developing test plan and managing testing for project implementation / enhancements
- Experience in developing and maintaining user guide and system documentations
- Experience in managing project scheduling and timelines for prompt completion of work tasks
Essential qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in investment systems, including but not limited to Murex, SimCorp Dimension, Blackrock Aladdin, Charles River, etc.
- Understanding of public markets transactions work flow – from front to back office- particularly in the fixed income and foreign exchange market space.
