Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of Payments and Cash Management projects. The role requires a strong background in transaction banking, project management frameworks, and cross-functional team leadership.
Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. 1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems. 2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance. 3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. 4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage the project plan, including WBS, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Deliverable Oversight: Align system delivery teams (platform, infrastructure, and applications) to the overall project objectives and timelines.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal Business Analysts (BAs), technical teams, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Framework Development: Define and implement a standard Project Management Framework for the APH region, including templates and guidelines.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and resolve project risks and issues, providing regular status updates and escalations.
• Vendor & Service Provider Management: Oversee service providers’ contractual obligations and performance, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
• Interdependency Management: Review plans and ensure cross-functional alignment across all workstreams.
Required Skills
• Project Management: 10+ years of experience managing end-to-end projects, preferably in transaction banking.
• Payments Expertise: In-depth experience with payments, cash management, and transaction banking projects.
• Technical Understanding: Strong knowledge of payments and collections processes such as:
o Cross-border TT, RTGS, ACH Bulk Payments
o Direct Debit, Internal Transfers, Instant/FAST payments
o Virtual Account Management
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems.
• Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across stakeholders.
• Project Frameworks: Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile).
Preferred Skills:
• Payments Standards: Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX messaging standards, and GPI.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of payments-related risk controls, governance, and regional regulatory requirements.
• Technical Acumen: Good understanding of core banking functionalities, GL postings, and STP processes.
• Experience with Banking Platforms: Prior experience delivering projects on platforms such as T24 or other transaction banking systems.
• Project Management: 10+ years of experience managing end-to-end projects, preferably in transaction banking.
