Job Description

As a Business Analyst (Payments), you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements for payment systems and transaction banking solutions. You will work closely with business operations, system interface teams, and vendors to ensure the seamless delivery of new payment platform developments and enhancements.

This role requires expertise in Payments, Cash Management, and Transaction Banking, as well as strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. 1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems. 2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance. 3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. 4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

  • Work with business operations and system interface teams to gather and define business requirements.
  • Conduct system and functional analysis to facilitate the creation of Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS).
  • Develop operational workflows, use case diagrams, and business process models.
  • Contribute to the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure alignment between requirements and delivered solutions.

Solution Design & Implementation:

  • Provide viable solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and support business initiatives.
  • Review and sign off on artefacts and solutions produced by technical teams and vendors.
  • Engage vendors and other application/project teams for new payment platform development.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end solutioning for new business products/offerings.

Testing & Post-Implementation Support:

  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression, performance, and rehearsal testing.
  • Ensure successful implementation of solutions on schedule.
  • Provide post-production issue resolution and guidance to BAU teams.
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance understanding across teams.

Primary Skillset

Business Analysis & Payments Expertise:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Payments, Cash Management, and Transaction Banking projects.
  • Strong understanding of Payments & Collections/Receivables, including:
    • Cross-border TT, RTGS, ACH Bulk Payments, Direct Debit, Internal Transfers, Instant/FAST payments, Virtual Accounts.
  • Expertise in Serial vs Cover methods of SWIFT payments and familiarity with APAC domestic payment infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with Payment transformation projects as a functional BA.
  • Strong experience with data/interface mapping and interface technologies/terminology.
  • Proficiency in SWIFT MT & MX, CBPR+, ISO 20022 standards, and GPI requirements.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills to align business and technology teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve complex issues in a timely manner.
