Job Title: Cards Solution Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced Cards Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure technology solutions across the cards domain. This role requires deep expertise in VisionPLUS, HPS, and API architecture, along with strong business analysis and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

You will act as a bridge between business and technology, owning the end-to-end solution architecture for cards programmes, and collaborating with teams across infrastructure, data, digital, risk, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and refine business requirements in collaboration with BAs, ensuring clarity and scope alignment.
• Lead technical design and solution proposals for cards workstreams, including issuing, authorization, and settlement.
• Align cards solutions with enterprise architecture frameworks and collaborate with domain architects and SMEs.
• Own the cards solution architecture and act as a central point of coordination across IT teams.
• Develop solution artefacts including sequence diagrams, interface trackers, and compliance documentation.
• Participate in business discussions to clarify requirements and communicate technical solutions.
• Resolve cross-functional conflicts and bridge gaps between IT teams.
• Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and adoption of best practices.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies across propositions and platforms.
• Produce and review solution proposals and engineering designs to ensure alignment with bank strategies.
• Drive agile delivery and domain-driven design practices across engineering teams.
• Define and document As-Is and Target Architectures, integrated applications, and strategic roadmaps.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years in software engineering with a strong focus on cards architecture and product SME experience (VisionPLUS and/or HPS).
• Proven experience in API & microservices architecture, DevOps, and cloud-native environments.
• Strong business analysis skills and experience in project and product management.
• Deep understanding of industry standards in card processing, including issuing, authorization, and settlement.
• Experience in defining and delivering strategic architecture roadmaps aligned to business goals.
• Knowledge of planning and organizing best practices, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, domain-driven design, and integration strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to influence and negotiate across diverse teams.
