Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced MES/MOM Technical Lead with 12–15 years of hands-on experience in leading manufacturing IT solutions across diverse MES platforms. The ideal candidate will drive solution architecture, technical leadership, delivery governance, and team mentorship for end-to-end MES/MOM implementations.

This role requires strong domain expertise in manufacturing operations, deep knowledge of MES systems, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and deployment of MES/MOM solutions across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Define solution architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards.
• Perform technical evaluations of packages, tools, and MES platforms.
• Review technical design documents (TDDs), configuration specs, and integration design.

Project Delivery

• Own delivery of MES/MOM modules end-to-end (requirements → design → build → test → deploy → hypercare).
• Ensure alignment with ISA‑95, ISA‑88, and industry best practices for manufacturing systems.
• Manage vendor teams, internal developers, and offshore resources.
• Drive technical risk identification, mitigation, and adherence to project timelines.

Manufacturing Domain Expertise

• Provide SME guidance in areas such as production execution, quality management, traceability, genealogy, WIP tracking, downtime, and OEE.
• Map business processes to MES capabilities and create functional/technical documentation.

Integration & Deployment

• Lead system integrations with PLCs/SCADA, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), historians, and plant-floor devices.
• Oversee deployment strategy, version control, environment management, and release cycles.

Stakeholder Management

• Interact with plant managers, process engineers, and operations teams to gather requirements.
• Present technical solution options to leadership and support decision-making.

Team Mentoring

• Guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices.
• Drive knowledge transition, training, and capability building within the MES team.

Required Technical Skills

Experience with one or more of the following MES/MOM platforms:

• GE Proficy (Machine Edition, Plant Applications, Workflow)
• Rockwell FTPC / Plex
• Siemens Opcenter / Camstar
• Dassault Apriso
• Aveva/Wonderware MES
• SAP MII / DMC / ME
• Honeywell POMS / AspenTech / Parsec TrakSYS

Plus:

• Strong understanding of ISA‑95, ISA‑88, and operational technology (OT) layers.
• Expertise in SQL Server/Oracle databases, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience integrating MES with PLC/SCADA systems.
• Hands-on experience with web services, APIs, OPC, MQTT, and message brokers.
• Ability to design scalable, resilient architectures for multi-site deployments.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience as Solution Architect or Lead Consultant.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts—IIoT, digital twins, AI/ML for manufacturing.
• Certification in MES/MOM tools or project management (PMP, ITIL).

Experience & Education

• 12–15 years of total experience in MES/MOM development, implementation, and support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience leading technical teams in global manufacturing environments.
