Your Role
- Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications using Java/Advanced Java (J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST).
- Work with Oracle or MS SQL Server for schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; implement improvements in performance, scalability, and security.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support CI/CD processes.
- (Good to have) Mentor junior developers and take ownership of modules or release planning.
- Work closely with Japanese stakeholders and contribute to customer meetings using English/Japanese communication skills.
Your Profile
- Strong proficiency in Core Java, Collections, Multithreading, J2EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate or other ORM frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven/Gradle and unit testing frameworks like JUnit.
- RDBMS expertise in Oracle or MS SQL Server (SQL, PL/SQL).
- Japanese language proficiency: JLPT N3 or higher; ability to read/write emails and participate in meetings.
- Excellent English/Japanese verbal and written communication.
- AWS or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect – Associate).
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle.
- Experience leading small teams, sprint planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Working knowledge of: Security practices (e.g., OWASP) Observability tools (CloudWatch, ELK) Performance monitoring and tuning.
- Prior experience working with Japanese customers or onsite engagements in Japan.
