CAD Engineer | 4 to 6 years | Pune

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, and a solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation workflows. The ideal candidate will contribute to product design, development, and risk assessment, ensuring high-quality and manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to optimize design for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Conduct impact analysis and support routing of engineering documents through appropriate workflows.
• Perform risk analysis to identify potential design and production issues early in the development cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support design reviews and change management processes.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on design goals and project timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing techniques, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience with impact analysis, document control, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in industrial design, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering documentation standards.
• Knowledge of tolerance analysis, GD&T, and design validation processes.
