Senior Storage Engineer

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced Storage & Backup Specialist to take ownership of our enterprise storage, backup, and recovery environments across multiple datacenters. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our data platforms are highly available, resilient, and consistently meeting performance and recovery targets.

  • Managing and optimising enterprise storage platforms including NetApp (7‑Mode & Cluster Mode), Dell PowerFlex/ScaleIO, and NetApp StorageGRID
  • Overseeing backup, recovery, and SaaS data protection using Veritas NetBackup & Veritas Alta (M365/SharePoint)
  • Supporting archiving solutions like Veritas Enterprise Vault and AXS‑One
  • Administering replication, storage virtualisation, object storage, and encryption at rest
  • Ensuring performance and capacity targets using tools like NetApp ActiveIQ and PowerFlex Management
  • Maintaining SAN environments (Brocade Fibre Channel) and coordinating offsite tape vaulting
  • Driving automation, continuous improvement, and ITIL-aligned operations (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

Your Experience

  • Experience working within a Managed Services Provider or large enterprise environment.
  • Strong capability across primary and software‑defined storage, including NetApp ONTAP, Dell PowerFlex, and NetApp StorageGRID.
  • Skilled in managing Brocade Fibre Channel SAN fabrics, including zoning, firmware updates, and environment health checks.
  • Proficient with backup and tape technologies such as Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Alta SaaS Protection, and Oracle StorageTek tape libraries.
  • Knowledgeable in archiving and security platforms, particularly Veritas Enterprise Vault, AXS‑One, and CloudLink encryption.
  • Naturally curious, with a genuine desire to continue learning and sharing new industry developments with the team.
  • Able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and changing workloads.
  • Confident working independently and using sound judgment to make decisions.
