Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Network & Security Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure and security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure, ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This role also involves planning and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
About You
We are looking for passionate individuals who are highly motivated and client-focused. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5, and Cisco devices, supporting routing, switching, wireless, and voice technologies, along with a solid understanding of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN)
• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Job Description - Grade Specific
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a network administrator role
• Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
Preferred Certifications:
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
• F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty or equivalent Azure certifications
• NV1 cleared preferred
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5, and Cisco technologies
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Dependable and flexible when necessary
• Network security experience
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
