Job Description

Overview
We are looking for an Edge Operations SRE to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of workloads running on Google Distributed Cloud Edge (GDC Edge).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support Google edge platform services (provisioning, upgrades, configuration, access, backups).

  • Ensure availability, latency, capacity, and performance targets (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets) for edge workloads.

  • Implement and support observability for distributed edge environments.

  • Troubleshoot issues across edge compute, networking, and on‑prem connectivity.

  • Handle on-call for remote Edge locations with limited compute capacity.

  • Collaborate with teams on edge maintenance windows, firmware/software updates, and failover readiness.

  • Maintain documentation tailored for hybrid cloud + edge operations.

    Must have:

  • 3–5 years in SRE/DevOps.

  • Experience in Google edge platform, Anthos/GDC Edge exposure

  • Experience with hybrid/on-prem workloads.

  • Practical experience with CI/CD, observability, incident management.

Technical Skills

  • Networking basics including VPNs, edge routing, low-latency paths.

  • IaC, automation, scripting.

  • Observability across distributed and resource-constrained edge nodes.


Nice to Have

  • GCP experience (VPC, LB, registries).

  • Certifications (CKA/CKAD, Google DevOps Engineer).

  • Kubernetes


Soft Skills

  • Ownership, clear communication, calm incident handling.

  • Confident speaking English
