Job Description

  • Administer and maintain the Commvault Backup & Recovery solution across multiple environments.
  • Perform daily health checks, job monitoring, and ensure successful completion of backup jobs.
  • Troubleshoot backup failures, job performance issues, and provide root cause analysis.
  • Manage backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies according to company standards.
  • Perform regular disaster recovery drills and ensure recoverability of critical data.
  • Collaborate with system, storage, and network teams to ensure integration and performance.
  • Provide backup and restore services for servers, databases, applications, and virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Maintain documentation related to backup configurations, procedures, and incidents.
  • Implement best practices for data protection, compliance, and security.
  • Support capacity planning and assist with backup infrastructure upgrades or migrations.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Hands-on experience in administering Commvault Backup and Recovery solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of backup technologies, storage systems (SAN/NAS), and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience with backup and recovery of physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and their backup requirements.
  • Knowledge of cloud backup solutions (AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers) is a plus.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving backup-related issues.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
