Senior Web Accessibility Developer

Location - New York City, NY

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Implement accessibility features using appropriate HTML elements, ensuring keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast checks, form optimization, error states, labeling, and data display.
• Conduct accessibility testing, both manual and automated, to identify and remediate issues.
• Collaborate with UX and Product Design teams to integrate accessibility best practices into the design and development process.
• Adapt experiences for video and audio content, including providing transcripts for videos, captions for audio content, and creating accessible PDF documents.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility standards, including WCAG and other global guidelines.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in web development with a focus on accessibility.
• Strong understanding of WCAG guidelines and accessibility principles.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, JAWS).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to creating inclusive digital experiences.

Salary Transparency

Capgemini discloses salary range information in compliance with state and local pay transparency obligations. The disclosed range represents the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting, although we may ultimately pay more or less than the disclosed range, and the range may be modified in the future. At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $ 100000 - $130000 / year.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
