Job Title: Ruby on Rails Engineer

Location: Portsmouth, NH / Boston, MA / Indianapolis (Hybrid)

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our dynamic development team. This role involves building and maintaining robust back-end systems and APIs that power our web applications. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end systems using Ruby on Rails.
  • Build and manage RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front-end applications and third-party services.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Ruby and deep understanding of the Rails framework.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining APIs and integrating with external systems.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and RESTful design principles.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of database systems like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
