Senior Manager, Life Sciences Commercial Strategy & Experience Design

At Capgemini Invent, we believe difference drives change. As inventive transformation consultants, we blend our strategic, creative and scientific capabilities, collaborating closely with clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Join us to drive transformation tailored to our client's challenges of today and tomorrow. Informed and validated by science and data. Superpowered by creativity and design. All underpinned by technology created with purpose.

About the Job You’re Considering

As AI reshapes how organizations operate, compete, and create value, we are evolving our consulting model to be AI-enabled by design, augmenting human judgment with analytics, automation, and generative AI. Our teams are looking for consultants who are not only strong problem solvers, but who are excited to work differently in an AI-first world: curious, adaptable, and ready to help clients reimagine how work gets done.

Life Sciences is at an inflection point. Next-generation assets, increasing pipeline pressure, payer complexity, and more empowered patients are requiring organizations to move beyond traditional commercial models. From emerging biotechnology companies to global pharmaceutical and medical device organizations, our clients need partners who can connect clinical and human insight with commercial strategy, experience design, technology, and execution.

Capgemini Invent’s Life Sciences practice helps clients address opportunities across the treatment and commercial lifecycle, including launch strategy, market access, pricing, patient services, customer engagement, commercial operations, and digitally enabled products and services. In this role, you will also be part of the frog community, bringing frog’s human-centered design, creativity, and experience-led transformation capabilities to Life Sciences clients. This combination allows us to develop commercial strategies that are human-centered and experiences that are commercially sound.

Your Role

As a Senior Manager, Life Sciences Commercial Strategy & Experience Design, you will lead high-impact engagements for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clients. Your work will span early commercial and launch planning through market maturation, helping clients determine how therapies are launched, priced, accessed, distributed, adopted at scale, and managed through loss of exclusivity.

You will combine deep Life Sciences commercial expertise with experience-design and product fluency. Working with senior client executives and multidisciplinary Capgemini Invent and frog teams, you will frame complex business challenges, uncover patient and provider needs, define commercially viable strategies and experiences, and guide solutions from strategy and concept through build, launch, and iteration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead end-to-end Life Sciences commercial strategy engagements spanning asset and launch planning, segmentation and targeting, go-to-market strategy, sales force and channel strategy, market access, pricing, patient services, pharmacy and distribution, and loss-of-exclusivity planning.
  • Conduct and oversee human-centered qualitative and quantitative research to identify unmet patient, provider, and customer needs, translating clinical and commercial insights into differentiated journeys, experiences, products, and services.
  • Apply design research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, concept development, and experience strategy to create solutions that connect human needs with commercial objectives and measurable health and business outcomes.
  • Partner with senior client stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams across strategy, design, product, engineering, data, and technology to take work from strategic direction and concept development through roadmaps, agile delivery, launch, adoption, and iteration.
  • Lead engagement delivery and contribute to practice growth by managing scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, margin, and financial performance, while supporting proposals, solution shaping, thought leadership, account development, and team coaching.

Your Skills + Experience

  • Strong AI and generative AI literacy, with experience collaborating across strategy, technology, data, and design to deliver responsible AI solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of the Life Sciences commercial lifecycle, including launch, pricing, access, distribution, adoption, customer engagement, and channel strategy.
  • Human-centered design expertise across research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, concept development, experience strategy, and product delivery.
  • Clear executive communication, trusted senior client relationships, multidisciplinary team leadership, and strong coaching capabilities.

Required Experience:

  • Ten or more years of experience delivering consulting engagements in Life Sciences commercial strategy, experience strategy, product strategy, service design, or human-centered design, including significant responsibility for leading client engagements and multidisciplinary teams.
  • At least eight years of hands-on Life Sciences commercial experience across areas such as end-to-end drug or therapy launch, segmentation and targeting, sales force sizing and deployment, go-to-market execution, patient services, customer engagement, and commercial operations.
  • Substantive experience in market access, payer strategy, drug pricing, pharmacy and distribution strategy, with an understanding of how these areas influence patient access, provider adoption, and commercial performance.
  • At least eight years of experience leading design-led processes and working alongside digital product and delivery teams, including design research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, concept development, roadmap creation, user stories, agile delivery, and the translation of experience strategy into build priorities.
  • Experience establishing AI-enabled workflows and driving AI adoption across teams or clients; strong executive communication, client relationship, engagement management, and business development capabilities; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; and the ability to travel approximately 30% based on client and engagement needs.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience presenting strategic recommendations to C-suite executives and working directly with senior Life Sciences commercial leaders.
  • Experience leading engagements spanning Life Sciences commercial strategy, experience design, product, data, and technology disciplines.
  • Experience using data, analytics, generative AI, or other AI-enabled tools in consulting delivery, including developing an AI-enabled prototype or product.
  • Experience translating experience strategy into product roadmaps and delivery plans alongside engineering and technology teams.
  • Demonstrated contributions to proposals, solution shaping, account development, thought leadership, practice growth, and the development of consulting teams.
