Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Lead architecture and solution development for complex Mainframe Modernization opportunities across North America.
• Define modernization strategies and transformation roadmaps based on business objectives, application characteristics, technical constraints, economics, risk, and target-state architecture.
• Design solutions covering modernization patterns such as application optimization, API enablement, DevSecOps transformation, rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, application decomposition, cloud and hybrid-cloud adoption, data modernization, platform transformation, application replacement, and retirement.
• Lead client discovery, assessments, architecture workshops, application portfolio analysis, modernization planning, and target-state design.
• Define approaches for application discovery, dependency analysis, business-rule extraction, reverse engineering, SME knowledge capture, functional decomposition, testing, and functional-equivalence validation.
• Develop solution architectures, delivery models, transformation roadmaps, estimates, business cases, and commercial assumptions for strategic pursuits.
• Provide architecture governance and solution oversight for large-scale modernization programs.
Job Description
Go-to-Market & Business Development
• Own and drive the North America Mainframe Modernization GTM strategy.
• Identify priority markets, industries, clients, workloads, buying centers, and modernization triggers.
• Develop differentiated offerings and propositions around application modernization, infrastructure transformation, hybrid cloud, DevSecOps, data modernization, AI-enabled engineering, software optimization, and application portfolio transformation.
• Create repeatable offerings, assessments, reference architectures, accelerators, modernization factories, and solution plays.
• Partner with sales and account leadership to identify, qualify, shape, and close strategic modernization opportunities.
• Lead executive client discussions, workshops, proposals, RFIs/RFPs, solution presentations, and large-deal pursuits.
• Develop business cases focused on measurable outcomes including cost optimization, agility, resiliency, developer productivity, risk reduction, speed-to-market, and business innovation.
• Support pipeline development, bookings growth, and expansion of strategic client relationships.
Partner & Ecosystem Leadership
• Develop joint solutions and GTM strategies with technology partners including but not limited to IBM, Red Hat, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Broadcom, Rocket Software, OpenText/Micro Focus, and other modernization technology providers.
• Build joint reference architectures, offerings, assessments, campaigns, workshops, demonstrations, and client propositions.
• Evaluate partner technologies and emerging modernization platforms to determine the appropriate fit for different client scenarios.
• Engage products and engineering organizations to influence solution development and technology roadmaps.
• Build repeatable partner-led modernization plays that can scale across the North American market.
Solution & Architecture Leadership
• Lead and develop a team of Mainframe Modernization architects and solution leaders.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns, solution standards, estimating models, modernization methodologies, and governance frameworks.
• Build expertise across IBM Z, z/OS, COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, CICS, IMS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, APIs, cloud-native technologies, containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, DevSecOps, data platforms, and AI-enabled software engineering.
• Mentor architects and technical leaders and establish a strong modernization architecture community.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is 160650 - 201495
