Junior Data Scientist

Job Location

• We are looking for a Data Scientist with expertise in predictive modeling, personalization, recommender systems, optimization, GenAI, and responsible AI systems.

• You will be responsible for developing and deploying AI-driven solutions across use cases such as customer engagement, personalization, recommendation, decision optimization and customer insights.

Key Skills

• Python, SQL, MLOps, and modern AI/ML development frameworks, AI/ML lifecycle, GenAI solutions including RAG, agentic AI workflows, LLM evaluation frameworks

Required Skills

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline
• 5 years of prior work experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or related technical fields
• Experience in unsupervised and supervised machine learning, predictive modeling, propensity models, recommender systems, deep learning, graph-based learning techniques
• Experience working with advanced NLP frameworks (Transformers, etc.), GenAI solutions, and LLMs
• Experience in formulating and solving optimization problems
• Knowledge of model evaluation, tuning, performance measurement, deployment and solution scalability
• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Must Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience building predictive machine learning models, recommender systems, ranking models, and prescriptive optimization models
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, MLOps, and modern AI/ML development frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, AWS Sagemaker, etc.)
• Expertise across the AI/ML lifecycle, including experimentation, A/B testing, feature engineering, model development, deployment, monitoring, measurement, and governance
• Experience evaluating, deploying, and governing GenAI solutions, including RAG, knowledge retrieval, agentic AI workflows, LLM Finetuning, LLM evaluation frameworks

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience in applying ML, DL, Econometric and Foundation Models for time series forecasting
• Experience working with knowledge graph, graph-based learning approaches
• Experience in constraint/mathematical programming, optimization packages and solvers (IBM ILOG CPLEX, Gurobi, Google OR-Tools, etc.)

Salary Transparency

Capgemini discloses salary range information in compliance with state and local pay transparency obligations. The disclosed range represents the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting, although we may ultimately pay more or less than the disclosed range, and the range may be modified in the future. The disclosed range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, geographic location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $56186 to $87556 /yearly.
This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
