Business Data Analyst - Data Management & Reporting

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with 8+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, and data management initiatives. This role will partner with Business, Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Technology teams to drive data-driven decision-making, support large-scale data transformation programs, and ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced SQL expertise, and experience working with complex enterprise data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, data quality issues, and actionable business insights.
  • Analyze source-to-target mappings and document end-to-end data lineage.
  • Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, data dictionaries, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Technology, and Business teams to deliver data solutions.
  • Define data quality rules, validation controls, reconciliation processes, and monitoring procedures.
  • Support data migration, transformation, integration, and modernization initiatives.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to support business and operational decision-making.
  • Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand reporting, analytics, and business requirements.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data validation, defect resolution, and production readiness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards, regulatory requirements, audit controls, and enterprise data policies.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Management Analyst, or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and business process analysis.
  • Proven experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple platforms and systems.
  • Strong understanding of data management, reporting, data governance, and data quality concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data and reporting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data warehousing, ETL, and data transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and data lifecycle management practices.
  • Exposure to modern reporting and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
