Job Description
Embedded Firmware QA Engineer
Experience: 4-6 Years.
Location: Mumbai - Powai Location.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Embedded Firmware QA Engineer to validate, test, and ensure the quality of embedded software and firmware running on microcontroller and embedded Linux-based platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong testing expertise, embedded systems knowledge, debugging skills, and experience working closely with firmware, hardware, and software development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for embedded firmware and software applications.
- Execute manual and automated testing for embedded products across various hardware platforms.
- Validate firmware functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Perform regression, integration, system, and stress testing for firmware releases.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Design and maintain automated test frameworks using Python or Bash scripting.
- Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to validate communication protocols and hardware interfaces.
- Support product qualification, release validation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in design reviews and provide quality-focused feedback during development cycles.
Mandatory Technical Skills
Embedded Systems
- Strong understanding of embedded systems concepts.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, and embedded hardware architectures.
- Experience working with hardware interfaces such as:
- SPI
- I2C
- UART
- CAN (preferred)
Programming
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in:
- C
- C++
Embedded Platforms
- Experience with:
- Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Embedded Linux environments
