Capgemini Engineering are looking to recruit a Senior Aerodynamics/CFD Engineer with particular focus on simulating airflow around aircraft designs and engines to optimize performance, handling, and safety.
Your Role
As an Aerodynamics/CFD engineer you will be involved in using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to analyse aerodynamic behaviour, generate aerodynamic models, and provide data for various stages of aircraft as well as engine development. Key skills include expertise in CFD software, meshing, data analysis, and a strong understanding of aerodynamics and flight dynamics.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with 3D CAD models (e.g., 3DX, CATIA, SolidWorks) to prepare geometries for CFD simulations.
- Preparing CFD meshes (e.g., Fluent Meshing, ICEM CFD, ANSA or CADfix).
- Using CFD software (like TAU, CODA, elsA, Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+) to simulate airflow, generate meshes, and analyse aerodynamic performance.
- Post-processing the CFD solutions (e.g., python scripts, Tecplot, Paraview).
- Creating aerodynamic models and databases based on CFD and experimental data (wind tunnel, flight tests).
- Contributing to the optimization of aircraft designs by analysing aerodynamic behaviour and identifying areas for improvement.
- Analysing CFD results, extracting insights, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Lead junior engineers within the team to integrate CFD results and contribute to the overall completion of the project
- Write and approve technical reports.
- Maintain direct working relationships with clients, team members and represent your work during client meetings.
What You Bring
- Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be able to work onsite in Mirabel 3 days a week
- A minimum of 2 years of experience
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in aerodynamics.
- Proficiency in CFD software, meshing techniques, and turbulence modelling.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamic principles, flight mechanics, and aircraft performance.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present CFD results effectively.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs.
- Communication and customer-facing skills.
- Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy environment.
- Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels.
- Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and automation could be a plus.
- Working knowledge of Unix would be a plus.

Vos responsabilités
À titre d’ingénieur(e) en aérodynamique / CFD, vous participerez à l’utilisation de logiciels de dynamique des fluides numérique (CFD) pour analyser le comportement aérodynamique, générer des modèles aérodynamiques et fournir des données essentielles aux différentes étapes du développement des aéronefs et des moteurs. Les compétences clés comprennent une expertise des outils CFD, du maillage, de l’analyse de données, ainsi qu’une solide compréhension de l’aérodynamique et de la dynamique du vol.
Responsabilités clés:
- Travailler avec des modèles CAO 3D (p. ex. 3DX, CATIA, SolidWorks) afin de préparer les géométries pour les simulations CFD.

- Encadrer des ingénieur(e)s juniors au sein de l’équipe afin d’intégrer les résultats CFD et de contribuer à la réalisation globale des projets.
- Rédiger et approuver des rapports techniques.
- Maintenir des relations de travail directes avec les clients et les membres de l’équipe, et représenter votre travail lors des rencontres avec les clients.
Profil recherché / Ce que vous apportez :
- Être citoyen canadien ou résident permanent.
- Minimum de 2 ans d’expérience pertinente.
- Diplôme en génie aérospatial, génie mécanique ou dans un domaine connexe, avec spécialisation en aérodynamique.
- Maîtrise des logiciels CFD, des techniques de maillage et des modèles de turbulence.
- Solide compréhension des principes aérodynamiques, de la mécanique du vol et de la performance des aéronefs.
- Capacité à analyser, interpréter et présenter efficacement les résultats CFD.
- Capacité à travailler rapidement et avec précision afin de répondre aux besoins des clients.
- Excellentes habiletés en communication et en relation client.
- Esprit d’équipe, capacité à travailler efficacement avec d’autres personnes dans un environnement dynamique et selon des échéanciers serrés.
- Attitude proactive et capacité à communiquer et à faire rapport à différents niveaux.
- Excellentes compétences en communication, avec un bon niveau d’anglais parlé et écrit.
- La connaissance de langages de programmation tels que Python, MATLAB ou équivalents pour l’analyse de données et l’automatisation est un atout.
- Une connaissance pratique des environnements Unix est un atout.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $54,200.00 to $118,350.00.
