Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Application Support Specialist to join our IT team, focusing on financial applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial software, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. As a key player in maintaining and optimizing our financial systems, you will ensure that applications function smoothly, troubleshoot issues, and provide top-notch support to our finance teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Application Support: Provide day-to-day support for financial applications, including troubleshooting issues, resolving bugs, and ensuring applications are functioning as expected.
  • Must have good knowledge of Java, API and SQL
  • Incident Management: Manage and prioritize support tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor application performance and availability, identify potential issues before they impact users, and implement proactive measures to enhance system reliability.
  • User Support: Assist end-users with application-related inquiries, providing training and guidance as needed to ensure effective use of financial software.
  • System Upgrades & Maintenance: Collaborate with IT and finance teams to plan and execute application updates, patches, and maintenance activities with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and streamline support processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial applications and support processes, working with stakeholders to implement enhancements.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure that financial applications adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices for security and data protection.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with vendors, IT teams, and finance departments to address application-related issues, implement solutions, and support business initiatives.
     

Required Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in application support, with a focus on financial applications or financial systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial software applications (e.g., ERP systems, accounting software), databases (SQL), and operating systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
