SAP S/4HANA Finance Lead – 12–16 Years, Utilities Sector
The SAP S/4HANA Finance Lead will be responsible for end to end functional leadership across Finance and Controlling (FICO) workstreams within large scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs in the Utilities sector. The role involves driving solution design, leading implementation teams, and ensuring successful delivery of financial capabilities aligned to industry specific business needs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Architecture
•    Lead end-to-end solution design across SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
•    Define and validate target business processes across General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Management,Cost Center Accounting,Profitability  Analysis, and Financial Closing.
•    Ensure design alignment with SAP best practices and the Utilities industry regulatory framework.
2. Implementation & Delivery
•    Lead project activities including requirement gathering, blueprinting, configuration, testing, cutover, and deployment.
•    Oversee configuration for FI-GL, FI-AA, FI-AP, FI-AR, CO-CCA, CO-PA, and Project Systems (PS) Finance integration.
•    Ensure integration with Billing, Metering, Procurement, Work Management, and Asset Management.
3. Industry Expertise – Utilities
•    Apply deep Utilities Finance domain expertise across electricity, gas, water, or wastewater organizations.
•    Support financial modeling for capital-intensive operations, rate case requirements, regulatory reporting, and asset lifecycle accounting.
•    Align financial processes with regulatory boards such as OEB, FERC, NERC, or equivalent (based on region).
4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
•    Lead functional Finance teams and collaborate with business SMEs, system integrators, and technical teams.
•    Facilitate workshops, design authority meetings, and steerco discussions with senior stakeholders.
•    Provide guidance on Finance transformation, process redesign, and best practices.
5. Integration & Collaboration
•    Work closely with EAM, SCM, Billing, HR/Payroll, Field Service, and Analytics teams to ensure seamless end to end Finance integration.
•    Collaborate with Data, Reporting, and Security teams for Finance data migration, reporting structures, and financial controls.
6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
•    Recommend process enhancements leveraging S/4HANA innovations such as Universal Journal, Central Finance, Group Reporting, Fiori apps, and embedded analytics.
•    Explore digital finance opportunities including predictive accounting, real-time insights, and automated reconciliation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
•    12–16 years of SAP Finance functional experience with strong expertise in FI, CO, Asset Accounting, and integration to Logistics and Billing.
•    At least 2+ end to end SAP S/4HANA implementations, including significant Utilities industry exposure.
•    Strong understanding of utility financial processes: capital projects, depreciation, regulatory accounting, complex billing integration, and operational finance.
•    Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Education & Certifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
•    SAP S/4HANA Finance certification preferred (e.g., S/4HANA for Financial Accounting Associates).
•    CPA/CMA or equivalent is an asset.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is:CAD 83000 - CAD 219000.

The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
