Role
In this role you will Develop, enhance, and maintain application features using Java, Swift, and COTS (Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf) platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain application features using Java, Swift, and COTS (Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf) platforms.
- Work on enhancement requests, bug fixes, and performance optimization for existing applications.
- Implement integrations, APIs, and data flows between custom applications and COTS systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts and architects to understand enhancement requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following established standards and best practices.
- Perform unit testing, assist with system testing, and validate enhancements prior to release.
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and release planning activities.
- Develop technical documentation including design updates, configuration details, and deployment steps.
- Assist in upgrading, configuring, and customizing COTS applications as needed.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure enhancements meet performance, reliability, and security expectations.
- Support deployment activities, patches, and release management for enhancement cycles.
- Provide ongoing support for application enhancements in a multi-team, agile delivery environment
Qualification
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience in application development with a focus on Java, Swift, or other object‑oriented programming languages.
- Experience implementing enhancements, maintenance updates, and iterative improvements for enterprise applications.
- Working knowledge of:
- Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot)
- Swift and iOS development fundamentals
- COTS configuration and customization
- REST APIs, JSON, XML
- Experience integrating applications with third‑party or enterprise COTS systems.
- Familiarity with relational databases (SQL) and version control (Git).
- Understanding of SDLC processes, agile methodologies, and DevOps concepts.
- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze existing codebases.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is an asset.
- Provide afternoon-shift coverage for enhancements, incidents, and release support, including clear end-of-day handoffs
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: CAD 65,000- CAD 135,000
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
